Our client is a leading manufacturer of automated machinery for the UK's manufacturing sectors.
Due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for machine installation, maintenance, and repair duties at client sites throughout the UK.
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, service, and repair of a wide range of automated packaging machinery.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Installation, maintenance, service, and repair of conveyors, packaging machinery, and high-speed filling and capping machinery.
2. Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts.
3. Electrical fault finding and repair on motors, servos, 415v, and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential).
4. PLC fault finding and repair.
5. Provide operational training for customers.
6. Produce and maintain accurate site/work visit reports.
Candidate:
You will be an experienced multi-skilled engineer, ideally with previous experience in working with high-speed automated or bespoke machinery.
You will have excellent 3-phase electrical/mechanical engineering skills, including PLC fault finding and repair skills.
Applicants will have recognised electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications, e.g., NVQ 3, City & Guilds, or HNC/HND.
You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and will be of a friendly disposition.
You will be required to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 40 hours + OT
