GSL Education’s South Yorkshire branch is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support students in secondary schools across Sheffield. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about promoting positive behaviour and helping students achieve their full potential.
Job Summary:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may be experiencing behavioural challenges, providing them with the support and strategies they need to succeed academically and socially. You will play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and fostering emotional resilience among students.
Key Responsibilities for Behaviour Mentor:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviour, helping them develop coping strategies and self-regulation skills.
* Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents on behaviour improvement and academic engagement.
* Facilitate social skills development through structured activities and interventions.
* Promote a positive school culture by encouraging respect, inclusivity, and understanding among students.
* Maintain accurate records of incidents and interventions, reporting to senior staff as necessary.
Essential Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:
* Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support role.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with behavioural challenges.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards student development.
* A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
