Main duties of the job You will be a qualified pharmacist with strong experience within primary care and have the following skills and qualifications: Completion of a degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Post-qualification experience in pharmacy (hospital, primary care or community), or working towards obtaining this. Qualified independent prescriber, or working towards this. Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). Awareness of the breadth of common acute and long-term conditions that are likely to be seen in a general medical practice. Ability to demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas. About us Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. We have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2GP Partners and a salaried GP, the practice team includes a clinical pharmacy team of 2, a nursing team of 10 and an efficient and effective reception and administrative team of 18. We are part of The Colte Partnership, which is a GP super-partnership formed in June 2017. It brought together 8 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 80,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county. As well as general practice, we offer Extended Access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.
