We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, innovative Physiotherapist to lead our Emergency Care Team.
As a Band 7 Physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to develop your own supervisory and management skills through supporting and supervising junior therapists, students, and/or therapy support workers.
You will need excellent clinical and leadership skills as well as a keen interest in research. A flexible approach and excellent team working, organisational, and time management skills are essential. You will need experience working as a qualified Band 6 or 7 Physiotherapist within the acute hospital setting.
This is a part-time post.
You may be required to travel to different sites across the Essex, Suffolk, and Tendring area.
You will work as an autonomous practitioner, ensuring a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and support more junior staff.
You will clinically diagnose, formulate and implement treatment plans, use problem-solving skills to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses, then modify treatment accordingly, maintaining accurate documentation at all times.
You will monitor referrals, ensuring appropriate discharge/ongoing care.
You will have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload and organise this efficiently according to clinical priority.
You will provide specialist assessment and advice for the multi-disciplinary team, actively participate in MDT meetings as appropriate, and actively participate in the professional development programme of the IUCRS team.
You will carry out assessments and treatment of patients, with moderate physical effort on a daily basis. This job may frequently involve exposure to unpleasant working conditions, and you will need to be sensitive when delivering a negative prognosis to patients, carers, and relatives. You will ensure a high standard of patient care is provided, implementing and reviewing clinical standards relevant to the work undertaken.
You will play an active role in supervising and performance management of more junior staff, which includes both informal supervision and participating in the department’s formal appraisal system. You will also assist in identifying and implementing appropriate learning opportunities.
