0.4 WTE Permanent Band 7 Paediatric Home Enteral Feeding Dietitian
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to join our paediatric team at the Royal Alexandra's Children's Hospital, covering a dedicated community caseload of paediatric home enteral feeding patients in the mid-Sussex area.
This post is based in the community across mid-Sussex with some sharing of the caseload in the Brighton and Hove area. The role will include reviews of children and young people via phone/video calls and face-to-face in clinics across the area, in schools, Child Development Centres, Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath) and the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital (Brighton), as well as home visits. There is close liaison with families and a wide range of carers including nursery and education providers, and the role involves working as part of a wider community MDT to support patients and their families.
You would work alongside another band 7 home enteral feeding dietitian and be part of a very well-respected, highly knowledgeable team of 10 experienced and supportive Paediatric Dietitians.
Applicants should have a good knowledge of paediatric enteral nutrition. Any necessary training and support can be provided.

Main duties of the job
As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist area of paediatric home enteral feeding.
You will be responsible for a dedicated caseload in the mid-Sussex geographical area, and share some of the caseload in the Brighton and Hove area, jointly with another home enteral feeding dietitian.
You will play a key role in the nutritional management of this patient group and will provide specialist advice, education and support to paediatric patients, their parents/guardians, carers and other health professionals.
Undertake relevant audit and research to further best practice.
Provide training to undergraduate dietitians and supervise their clinical placements in paediatrics.
Participate in continuing professional development, audit and research within this specialist area to further best practice.
Attendance at MDT case meetings, child safeguarding, serious case review and paediatric case conferences as required.

Qualifications
* Dietetics Degree or Post Graduate Diploma
* HCPC Registration
* BDA Paediatric Modules
Experience
* Substantial clinical dietetic experience in a range of inpatient and outpatient settings
* Paediatric experience, including enteral nutrition
* Teaching experience with patients / health care professionals
* Experience of working with paediatric home enteral feeding patients
* Previous experience of clinical supervision of student dietitians
Skills
* Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Ability to work as a team member, including within an MDT
* Managing patients with complex needs
* Ability to motivate self and others
