Position: Trainee Drainage Supervisor Location: Bristol Reporting to: Operations Delivery Manager Division: South Rail Systems Alliance Purpose of the Role: To support the Drainage division as required. To plan and deliver Drainage renewals and associated works ensuring that the work is planned and delivered safely and to time and budget. Key Success Measures

7. Take charge of construction activity (including Track Renewals Core worksites as directed) and deliver the planned work safely and on time, adhering to the requirements defined in the Colas Rail Site Management Procedure
8. To assist with managing a team and monitor / drive the performance of staff reporting to the site manager in terms of delivery to time, quality specification, budget and manage manner
9. Carry out the role of supervisor in charge of tasks as directed.
10. Allocate or ensure that suitably competent staff are allocated to activities
11. Ensure all office deliverables in order to safely deliver site works are completed in a timely and efficient manner
12. Risk assess site conditions and work activities; and plan or initiate suitable control measures
13. Working with the Lead Engineer and Engineers, understand staging of the work, work activities and methodology
14. Ensure that all long-lead plant items, including labour and materials are secured.
15. Have an appreciation for placing orders for all required manpower, tools, equipment etc.
16. Undertake detailed site visits, understanding of materials required for works and ensure the safe deliveries and sit set up in accordance with relevant H&S standards.
17. Produce or assist in producing multi-discipline Work Package Plans and Task Briefs
18. Optimize the resource levels to ensure projects are delivered to budget and specification
19. Maintaining accurate records of site resources, materials and plant. Provide daily resource sheets, weekly plant returns, weekly materials returns and subcontract performance reports
20. Produce reports or provide information in a timely manner
21. Undertake the supervision of work sites during the mid-week and weekend as required
22. Carry out track inspections as directed and produce snagging lists
23. Assist in audit and carry out safety inspections as directed
24. Attend and cascade briefings as directed
25. Weekend / Night duty as per roster
26. Perform On Call duties as directed
27. Deputized as Rimini planner as required
28. Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

30. Monitor the compliance to health and safety regulations and clients and company rules,
31. processes and procedures
32. Identify, remove or mitigate foreseeable risks related to construction work
33. Check that suitably competent staff is allocated to work activities
34. Comply or ensure compliance to safety critical procedures
35. Report all accidents and incidents
36. Co-operate with your employer to enable any legal obligations to be complied with
37. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do
38. Do not recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare
39. Bring to the attention of your manager any perceived shortcomings in health and safety arrangements or situations that you consider to be serious or imminent danger to yourself or others

Do not undertake any safety critical activity for which a specific competence is required, unless you have received the necessary training/instruction and assessment and hold he appropriate Certificate of Competence/Authority to Work. Do not instruct others to undertake such work if they do not hold the appropriate Certificate of Competence/Authority to Work
41. Hold recognised supervisory/leadership in management course
42. Competent in mandatory track inspections to ensure safety of line
