Job description
Are you a compassionate and committed individual looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others?
Do you want to develop your skills and enhance your career to include providing complex clinical care or do you already have complex care experience?
We have an exciting new opportunity to join our team in Bury and are seeking dedicated healthcare assistants to provide specialist, person centred care to our service user, within his own home.
Meet our service user
Our service user is a sociable young man who lives with his family in Bury.
He is a delightful and a determined young man who enjoys being around people. He loves action rhymes, being read to and watching his favourite TV programmes such as Something Special and Balamory. He also likes to go shopping where he enjoys putting items in the basket and loves going to farms and car boot sales.
We are looking for bubbly and engaging individuals to provide specialist 1:1 and 2:1 care for him throughout the day and night. During the week he does attend college, and you will be required to accompany him to and from his educational setting along with supporting him throughout the day there.
He is dependent on the support of his care team for all his transfers and for any moving and handling requirements and has a specialised wheelchair for transportation.
In addition to this, you will meet all aspects of his day-to-day care needs, including personal care, delivery of his clinical interventions and carrying out regular observations, ensuring you always remain vigilant as he requires continuous supervision to ensure his safety.
Our service user is unable to communicate verbally and to avoid him becoming distressed or frustrated, it is key that you spend time getting to know the unique signals and cues he uses to make his needs known, such as facial expressions, gestures and sounds.
It is important for our service user to be familiar with the people around him and therefore, we’re looking for patient and dedicated individuals who can commit to his care on a long-term, ongoing basis.
