Personal Assistant in Wisbech from £12.50 per hour, rising to £15.50 per hour following a successful probation period What would the job entail? A disabled woman living in Wisbech and working from home requires a Personal Assistant (PA) to provide care support every weekday afternoon, beginning Monday 13th February. Hours are from 12.30pm - 6pm every Tuesday - Friday afternoon, and 1pm - 6pm every Monday afternoon, making a total of 27 hours per week. Generous hourly rates of pay for the successful candidate from £12.50 per hour, rising to £15.50 per hour following a successful probation period. Only genuine applicants need apply please. No personal care is required and duties include housework, shopping, food preparation, light gardening, and ironing. There is also a requirement to support the disabled client with her research as a representative of the public, so good communications skills are necessary. This includes discussions about disability and reading written reports to advise as to clarity, so a confident use of English is beneficial. The funding for this PA support is provided by Cambridgeshire County Council with wages paid every 4 weeks by the PeoplePlus support agency. Requirements of the role: Previous experience within a care or support environment is desirable. The successful candidate must be willing and able to follow instructions and to work unsupervised to meet high standards, which need to be adhered to due to the client's physical limitations. The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a smoking environment. It is essential that the successful candidate owns a car so that they can drive the client to appointments when she is not well enough to drive. The PA needs to be punctual, trustworthy, and dependable and they will be provided with on-the-job training. References are required. The successful candidate will be physically fit and capable of pushing the client outside in a wheelchair, and of collapsing the wheelchair to lift it in and out of the client's car for outside journeys when escorting the client to appointments. The wheelchair is not used in the home. An enjoyment of music and films is welcome and will be enjoyed when the client is taking a break from working in the home environment. An Enhanced DBS check will be required. – This is to check for any previous criminal records.
