The manufacturing engineer owns the manufacturing process for their assigned areas. The manufacturing engineer ensures manufacturing processes are safe, produce quality product on time and under budget. The job scope will range from day-to-day support to implementation of new products and processes.
Ideally looking for someone who has worked with CNCs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be the process expert for assigned areas of responsibility.
2. Be a coach and teacher for the production operators.
3. Serve as the top problem solver in production.
4. Create and properly maintain process documentation; Work instructions, PFMEA, Control plans, maintenance plans, etc.
5. Support day-to-day production as required.
6. Optimize all aspects of existing production processes: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
7. Manage Capex projects from identification through justification, implementation, and validation.
8. Manage all aspects of durable and consumable tooling required for production.
9. Create and properly manage BOMS and routings.
10. Responsible for work measurement to accurately determine capacity and costs.
11. Responsible for COPQ: Scrap, rework, and returns. Making improvements to reduce and eliminate.
12. Work with product development teams to ensure new products transition efficiently to the shop floor and achieve planned profit.
13. Properly deploy lean tools and practices throughout operations: Standards work, 5S, TPM, VRK, and VSM.
14. Interface with other departments and functions as required to achieve goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline; Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial.
2. 3-7 years industry experience in metal machining processes, rotating equipment design.
3. A proven record of developing capable manufacturing processes.
4. A proven record of solving difficult problems and improving processes.
5. Experience with the proper deployment of lean tools and practices a plus. Examples are: standard work, 5S, VSM, and TPM.
6. Ability to work across organizational functions and generate results without direct reporting relationships.
7. Strong written and verbal communications.
8. Experience with SolidWorks a plus.
9. Experience in leading kaizen, and/or rapid improvement events a plus.
10. Formal Green Belt / Black Belt training or other problem-solving methods a plus.
11. Experience with Minitab a plus.
