Job Description
In this role, you'll take charge of the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, helping ensure smooth operations, resolving issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver successful results.
You'll also play a key part in keeping projects on track, maintaining high safety standards, and fostering teamwork across different teams.
What You'll Do
* Manage Contracts and Budgets: Oversee the financial and contractual details of multiple projects. Ensure everything aligns with contracts, regulations, and best practices.
* Solve Problems: Take the lead in resolving disputes, defects, and other challenges, working closely with contractors and colleagues.
* Collaborate and Communicate: Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and teamwork.
* Ensure Compliance: Keep projects compliant with legal, safety, and quality standards while monitoring costs and schedules.
* Support Project Success: Help assess risks, review plans, and ensure smooth handovers at project completion.
* Use Digital Tools: Manage project documentation using cloud-based systems and stay open to new technology.
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this role you will ideally already have experience working on large residential projects (Affordable housing would be ideal and/or High-rise) along with:
* Construction Expertise: Deep knowledge of construction contracts (especially JCT contracts), procurement, and project delivery.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Experience resolving disputes and managing issues effectively.
* Strong Communication: Ability to negotiate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Project Experience: Hands-on experience managing large residential projects (£10m-£100m).
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with digital tools for construction management and financial reporting.
* Qualifications: A degree in a construction-related field and full chartered membership (e.g., RICS).
