Job Description:
Year 1 teacher KS1 Doncaster Primary Teacher full time starting 3rd June until Summer for the summer term full time teaching role in a lovely school. After May half term.
Academics LTD, a Doncaster-based teaching agency, is actively supporting a local Primary school with a temporary fixed role for a Year 1 full-time half-term temporary fixed term role.
The role is to start after half term May 2024 and, for the right person, is to run for at least 1 term in Summer, potentially longer. The school is passionate about securing a warm, caring, nurturing, and sensitive individual with a desire to ensure all children progress and reach their full potential. Trials and interviews are being arranged. The role requires working collaboratively with the other class teacher on a regular Thursday and Friday.
The successful candidate will be required to plan, mark, assess, attend meetings, and get involved in the wider community within school life. Up-to-date knowledge of the KS1 curriculum is essential, and recent experience in a Y1 class is desirable and advantageous.
This school, situated in fairly central Doncaster with good transport links, is an exciting place to teach and learn. Ideally, we are seeking a creative and calm candidate to work within this welcoming team, all striving to ensure success for all. This school prides itself on its inclusivity. The curriculum is traditional, with core subjects embedded into the daily structure, complemented by enrichment activities to create a happy, active, and fun environment for learning.
This role involves working with Year 1 class children aged 5-6 years. The classes are mixed to help ensure full coverage of the national curriculum and to stretch and support students working at different levels.
There will be a large focus on English, Maths, Science, SPAG, Phonics, and promoting and encouraging more independence in learning for pupils. This is an exciting year group and key stage to work within as you help pupils grow in various core areas, including coordination of language, speech, and writing.
Ideal candidates need to hold an enhanced valid DBS or an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to process a new one via Academics. The candidate is subject to relevant compliance and vetting before being able to work for Academics, which the team here in the Doncaster branch is happy to guide you through.
Please contact Doncaster Academics at 01302 294522 or email with your CV and covering email.
We are excited to chat with you about this role and other long-term and more flexible roles we have to offer. We are a 5* Google-rated branch and pride ourselves on delivering continuity in the classroom, helping education and training within Doncaster schools.
