At UK Biobank, we are motivated to both support and expand our global researcher community. As part of our Communications team, your primary goal will be to nurture an engaged, well-informed network of researchers. You will be responsible for creating and delivering dynamic content that showcases the groundbreaking research made possible by UK Biobank’s data, while inspiring both current and potential users. Through targeted campaigns, events, and multi-format marketing content, you will play a key role in fostering deeper connections within the scientific community.
Can you do it?
The answer is “yes”, if you have a keen interest in developing your career within Communications and are available to work on a 12 month FTC basis to cover maternity. The key responsibilities are:
* Delivering on the strategy to engage researchers, build a community, ensure users are well-informed and feel supported as they move from users to champions.
* Creating relevant, inspiring and engaging marketing communications content through a Zendesk community group; monthly emails; videos; training materials; social media; webinars and events.
* Showcasing research and researchers; data and platform developments; training; UK Biobank team members; milestones and achievements.
* Helping users to develop their skills, and nurturing champions from across geographies and scientific fields who will be public advocates for UK Biobank.
* Developing a calendar of email marketing campaigns.
* Ensuring all information is conveyed in a clear, concise, accessible, helpful and friendly manner.
* Enhancing current methods of gathering thoughts, queries and concerns from users of UK Biobank data.
* Analysing metrics to assess success and inform strategy for each channel.
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with expected 2 days per week in the office. Based in either London or Stockport.
Is this 'you'?
Reporting to the Head of Researcher Engagement, you’ll have experience of:
* Driving sustained engagement amongst technically-minded audiences (e.g. research scientists).
* Working cross-functionally with teams to design and create engaging multi-format marketing content (e.g. video, infographics, social posts, webinars, workshops) for a knowledgeable audience.
* Creating or overseeing creation of clear long-form/complex content (e.g. training materials) and pithy, engaging content (e.g. social media/digital posters).
* Assessing success of campaigns or projects, and able to demonstrate how that influenced future work.
* Clearly conveying complex information in a friendly manner that treats users as valued members of the community.
* Excellent written communication skills.
