This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about working with children with complex needs and making a meaningful difference in their educational journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to children in Reception with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and included. Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised learning plans and adapting activities to meet each child's needs. Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence and confidence. Support the development of key skills such as communication, social interaction, and sensory regulation. Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and maintain clear communication. Manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, using strategies to de-escalate and re-engage children in learning. What Were Looking For: Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in Early Years or Reception settings. A caring and patient approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff. Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting children with complex needs (e.g., autism, sensory needs). Strong communication and teamwork skills. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to promoting the welfare of all children.
