Media Sales Executive - Reuters Archive
We envisage the successful candidate being based in London (UK).
Looking to grow your media sales career with one of the world's most trusted and respected news and media organisations? Like the sound of selling archive images and videos to a host of Reuters' global clients across the DACH region? This might just be the role for you.
Reuters are looking for an experienced Media Sales Executive to sell archive video and images to Reuters' clients across the DACH region. For us, archive means anything older than 48 hours' old, so you might find yourself selling anything from images taken at the White House last week, to video footage dating back to 1913 (and everything in between!). We work with a variety of news and media outlets, publishing companies and high-profile documentary film makers and production companies to ensure that they have the materials they need in order to create great content.
This is a great role for someone that's interested in current and historical affairs and wants to grow their media sales career further with one of the world's most trusted news and media brands.
About the Role
As Media Sales Executive at Reuters, you will:
* Be responsible for selling Reuters, and Reuters partners' archive video and picture content to clients across various industries, including media, advertising, and entertainment.
* Collaborate closely with our sales team to identify new business opportunities, build relationships with clients, and negotiate sales agreements.
* Respond to client enquiries and provide quotes and timely delivery of archive video and picture content.
* Proactively research and identify new business opportunities, including new clients and markets and will build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients to increase sales and revenue.
* Develop a deep understanding of client needs and preferences to tailor sales approaches and recommendations, and will manage client expectations, resolve issues and negotiate sales agreements.
* Develop a thorough understanding of Reuters archive video and picture content, including metadata, licensing, and usage rights.
* Stay up-to-date with new content additions, trends, and industry developments to provide expert advice to clients.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Media Sales Executive at Reuters if you have:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a media sales setting, with knowledge of industry trends.
* A great eye for detail with a methodical approach to managing projects. You'll be skilled at assessing the quality of information and relevance to our clients' needs, ensuring a great customer experience.
* A keen awareness of current and historical affairs. We consider anything older than 48 hours to be archive material. This means that you could be researching and selling material on topics that's from five days ago, or from 1895.
* Good commercial acumen, with the ability to understand why certain parties might be interested in the contents of our archive.
* A collaborative mindset with the desire to grow and build your media sales career with one of the world's most recognizable brands.
* Whilst not a requirement, please ensure you list any additional languages on your CV! As many clients will be based in the DACH region, any understanding of German language (even if rudimentary) would be of interest.
Please Note: Complete applications must be submitted by 23:59 (GMT) on Sunday 6th April 2025. Early applications are encouraged.
