About the Role:
Dunbar Education is excited to work closely with an SEN school that is actively seeking a dedicated SEN Support Officer to support pupils aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. This role is pivotal in helping students with SEN needs access education in a supportive, positive environment. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, organised, and proactive individual, dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people who face complex challenges.
School Profile:
The school provides education for students aged 11 to 16 who may have histories of poor attendance, exclusion from mainstream education, and a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Many students have additional learning difficulties, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and social communication challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Development and Coordination: Work closely with the SENCO to contribute to the ongoing development of SEN policy and provision. Support the day-to-day operation of SEN policy, ensuring it meets the needs of individual pupils with SEN or disabilities.
