Job Description
Let’s be honest, La Vie’s plant-based lardons bacon & ham are WAY too delicious to keep them to ourselves in France. This is why we need YOU to bring more joy and love to the menus in the UK!
The Senior Key Account Manager for Retail will be responsible for managing and growing La Vie’s business across national accounts including Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Ocado, and Wholefoods. With a combined portfolio value of £2.8M in 2024, and plan to deliver +100% growth within retail in 2025, this role is pivotal in driving sales and ensuring the brand’s mission resonates with our retail partners and consumers.
Job Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement strategic plans for Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Ocado, and Wholefoods to drive growth and deliver sales targets.
2. Win new business with key account targets including Coop, Morrisons, Asda, Meal box retailers such as Gousto, Hello Fresh, and white label opportunities where appropriate.
3. Be a ‘Hungry Hunter’ don’t be afraid to knock down doors, ask over and above, and set a best-in-class example to the wider sales team of how to secure new business.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within these retailers.
5. Monitor and analyze account performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and taking proactive action to optimize sales.
6. Negotiate terms, promotions, and joint business plans to ensure mutual growth and profitability.
7. Champion La Vie’s mission to ‘Gather all consumers, meat-eaters and vegans alike’ with our no-compromise multi-award-winning products.
8. Work closely with marketing and CSR teams to align sales strategies with the brand's mission and communicate this effectively.
9. Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform account strategies.
10. Provide feedback and recommendations to internal teams to enhance product offering and positioning.
11. Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure alignment and delivery of account objectives.
12. Act as a mentor to junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their development.
13. Be a driving force of positive energy within the team, set a best-in-class example for a can-do attitude and find solutions to overcome problems.
Preferred Experience
1. Proven track record in a senior account management role, preferably within a mission-driven challenger brand or blue-chip FMCG business.
2. Direct experience managing top-tier retailers including Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Coop, ASDA, and Morrisons.
3. Experience working in a mission-led or purpose-driven business, with a passion for promoting ethical and sustainable practices.
4. Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships at all levels.
5. Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to drive sales and growth and profitability.
6. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive account plans.
7. Data-driven, with strong analytical skills to interpret performance metrics and market trends.
8. Passionate about La Vie’s mission and values.
9. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently if at home.
10. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, fluent in English.
11. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
12. Open-minded, compassionate, and able to flex style depending on the situation.

Our Offer Package
Competitive Salary between £60-65k and a 20% Bonus.
45% of the value of your base salary (at time of joining) in shares.
£40 travel allowance per month.
