Pharmacy Advanced Assistant Technical Officer - Clinical Trials
We are looking for an individual to join our friendly, patient-centred team to help deliver the pharmacy clinical trials service, working at the heart of Research and Innovation at UHNM. This key role will be a central part of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team, pre-dominantly based in the RSUH, to provide an excellent service to patients, trial sponsors and a range of trust teams including Pharmacy, Research and Innovation and wider multi-disciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job
1. To dispense medications to patients, after receiving appropriate training and following the appropriate written procedures
2. Provide data collection and analysis for pharmacy aspects of all clinical trials at UHNM
3. To act as a superuser for existing and new electronic clinical trials systems and provide training where applicable.
4. To maintain training records for all clinical trials staff members
5. To develop and maintain databases used within the clinical trials department
6. To order and receive clinical trial drugs, process receipt paperwork and acknowledge receipt on IVRS (Electronic Medication Supply) systems following the appropriate written procedures
7. To assist in the creation of trial specific SOPs and documentation under supervision
8. Assist with trial close out, medicines destruction and archiving trial documents following specific written procedures
9. Assist in ensuring compliance with any recommendations arising from Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) inspections relating to clinical trials.
10. Support the implementation of the Research Governance Framework and the Research and Innovation Strategy within the Pharmacy Directorate and the UHNM.

Essential Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs grade C (new grading 4) or above or equivalent must include Maths and English
* AND NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services with additional substantial experience equivalent to BTEC or NVQ Level 3
* Current GCP Training
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience Essential
* Substantial recent experience of working as a SATO within a Clinical Trials Department
* Has enhanced IT skills and able to use Microsoft applications to a high standard.
* Prides oneself in maintaining a high standard of work
* Stock control experience
* Knowledge, application and understanding of standard operating procedures and Good Clinical Practice and working to current standards
* Experience of writing or being involved in the writing of standard operating procedures
* Has an understanding of EPMA in relation to clinical trials
* Has a working knowledge and experience of the EDGE system in relation to clinical research.
