We design, assemble and deliver large-scale, complex hydraulic systems. We carry out hydraulic servicing to exacting standards, ensuring leak-free and smooth running equipment. We create reliable and efficient hydraulic connections for industrial and offshore applications.
This is a full-time position upon completion of the apprenticeship.
The hydraulics apprentice will learn to gain knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems and components. The apprentice will learn how to read and interpret hydraulic circuit drawings.
The apprentice will learn how to:
1. Build hydraulic systems and subsequently learn the process of installation.
2. Commission, disassemble, diagnose faults, and service hydraulic systems.
3. Get involved in repair, retrofits, and upgrades on complete hydraulic systems and components.
4. Work in-house and on-site to suit business needs.
The apprentice will gain the following skills:
1. Understand and interpret hydraulic system drawings.
2. Build and test complete hydraulic systems and sub-assemblies from assembly drawings.
3. Assess and identify hydraulic parts in need of repair from Drawings/BOMs.
4. Troubleshoot hydraulic installations.
5. Gain experience with hydraulic piston pumps, pressure and flow control valves, directional control valves, check valves, and double and single-acting cylinders.
6. Develop skills in field diagnosis.
The candidate will complete an Engineering Fitter standard and sit an end-point assessment, leading to a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
Practical training & BTEC will take place at TDR Longbenton.
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
