Location: Weymouth, Dorset Contract Type: Flexible (Monday to Friday, term-time) Duration: Ongoing, with potential to extend into the new year About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic Primary school in Weymouth. This is a flexible role, offering the opportunity to work on a Monday to Friday basis during term-time, with potential for continuation into the new year. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with SEN students and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on children’s learning and development. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN, tailored to their individual needs and learning style. Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging with class activities. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning strategies. Monitor progress, report on achievements, and help adjust strategies where needed. Promote positive behaviour and provide emotional and social support to the student. Support the student in building confidence and independence within the classroom. Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. Key Requirements: Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students. Excellent communication skills, both with students and colleagues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of SEN strategies and relevant educational frameworks. A genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experience of students with SEN. Available to work Monday to Friday, with flexibility regarding working hours. Desirable Skills: Previous experience in a similar 1:1 teaching assistant role. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training).
