St. Mary Magdalene is a popular and successful school and is recognised by Ofsted as a 'Good' school. The secondary phase opened in September 2016 and provides a total of 900 places for students aged 11-16, along with a sixth form provision which opened in 2021.
About the role
At St Mary Magdalene, we recognise the impact of a pupil’s home life on their ability to access education. The role of Student Welfare Support Assistant is focused on supporting the students on a daily basis to ensure they can access their education, are focused on their learning and are able to make the right behaviour choices which enable them to achieve their full potential.
The role will involve:
* Developing and maintaining good working relationships with students, parents, carers and staff
* Daily input and monitoring of student attendance
* Being the first port of call for students, after their own family tutors, for issues, queries or support
* Working closely with teachers, SLT and the Home School Link Worker to put in place the correct support if/when required.
