Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership within a highly specialised area
* Participate in departmental QA, audit and all aspects of mandatory training
* Scope to develop policies and procedures
* Deputise and support the Radiology Manager
* Supervise and develop other members of staff, including mentoring students and perceptees
* Work in partnership supporting practitioners and other departments around the hospital
* See each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy
* Excellent communication and team working abilities

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Radiology Manager who will be responsible for the operational management of a part of the diagnostic imaging department ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services, and/or to be a speciality lead in a clinical area such as MRI, CT, and mammography, whilst supporting the Radiology Manager. You will have the relevant specialist knowledge with previous people management experience, good communication and IT skills.
Qualifications
* BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and HCPC registered. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable.
Experience
* Previous relevant experience with a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR, and the ability to undertake audits, with a preferred background in CT and MRI.
