About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Reporting Manager to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to have end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of operational reporting, including executive reporting, KPI monitoring, business trends analysis, forecasting, budgeting, operational trend identification, and understanding business drivers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating providing actionable insights to support decision-making processes at all levels of the organization.
What you’ll be doing
Executive Reporting:
1. Work with relevant internal stakeholders, including business development leaders, to: (1) conduct a needs analysis to determine reporting requirements; (2) create and maintain a consistent approach to reporting for executives; and (3) produce reporting packs on weekly/monthly/quarterly cadence or on an ad hoc basis.
2. Design, generate and deliver concise and insightful reports to senior leadership, providing visibility into key operational metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
KPI Monitoring:
3. Develop, monitor, and analyze KPIs to track the organization's performance against strategic objectives.
4. Identify areas of improvement and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives for performance optimization.
Business Trends Analysis:
5. Utilize data analysis techniques to identify and analyze emerging business trends, opportunities, and threats.
6. Provide recommendations based on findings to support strategic decision-making.
Forecasting and Budgeting:
7. Collaborate with finance and operational teams to develop accurate forecasts and budgets.
8. Monitor actual performance against forecasts, identify variances, and provide explanations and recommendations for course correction as necessary.
Operational Trend Identification:
9. Proactively identify operational trends by analyzing large datasets and conducting root cause analysis. Work closely with operational teams to understand underlying drivers and develop strategies for improvement.
Understanding Business Drivers:
10. Develop a deep understanding of the organization's business model, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Translate this knowledge into actionable insights that drive operational excellence and business growth.
What you’ll bring
11. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
12. 5+ years of experience in operational reporting, business analysis, or related roles.
13. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
14. Strong presentation skills, including executive presence to deliver insights to senior executives.
15. Ability to drive change and influence others cross-functionally without authority.
16. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
17. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
18. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
19. Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and driving results.
20. Ability to work independently and accurately under tight deadlines.
