Job Description Job Title: EC&I /Hardware Engineer Location: Sheffield Salary: Base salary from £ 50,000 benefits Contract / Permanent: Permanent Site Based / Office / Remote: Hybrid Start Date: ASAP Job Overview: BASIC FUNCTION: We are looking for a Hardware Engineer with associated supporting skills, hence the prioritisation below. Our client is at the forefront of groundbreaking electro-mechanical engineering solutions, solving complex kinetic engineering challenges for demanding applications and bespoke mechanical handling challenges for high-risk environments. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Hardware Control System Design Awareness of Working in Regulated Industries Structured Documentation to Support Designs VSD Configuration (master slave, torque follow etc) Electro-mechanical System Integration System Validation and Commissioning Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Project/Workload Planning & Management Equipment and Instrument Specification HMI Design SCADA Systems PLC Programming Functional Safety Awareness QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirement for Degree in Electrical Engineering Member of Institute of Electrical Engineers / MIET, Chartered or working towards (preferred but not essential) WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years engineering experience CORE COMPETENCIES: Problem Solving ; use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, seek hidden problems, conduct honest analysis, look beyond the obvious and don ’ t stop at the first answer Standing Alone ; prepared to stand up and be counted, doesn ’ t shirk personal responsibility, willing to be the only champion for an idea or position, is comfortable working alone Managing & Measuring Work ; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks, sets clear objectives and measures, monitors process, progress and results Please note that candidates need to be aware of security clearance checks that will be performed.
