Job summary The Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) is a 30 bedded mixed sex general surgical ward taking elective and emergency patients. We also take direct patients referrals from G.P's /Paramedics. Alongside SAU we also run an ambulatory clinic (SACC) which you may have to help cover, working a 9 -5 shift on occasion alongside a specialist nurse.Our aim is to provide the highest quality patient care in a happy work environment. Main duties of the job Undertake assessment of admissions as allocated by nurse in charge. To work independently within the clearly defined boundaries of the Registered Nursing Associate competencies and scope of practice Work with Registered Practitioners in the provision of nursing care for patients in the Surgical Assessment Unit To carry out clinical tasks through admission to discharge in a safe effective manner.
