Overview
We are a busy, family-owned scrap yard looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Weighbridge and Front-of-House Administrator. In this role, you will be the face of our business, greeting clients and managing our weighbridge operations. This position combines front-of-house duties with key administrative tasks, offering a great blend of customer interaction and office work.
Responsibilities
1. Weighbridge Operations: Operate the weighbridge, accurately recording and processing weights for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed efficiently.
2. Customer Service: Welcome customers and visitors to the yard, handling inquiries professionally and providing clear guidance on site procedures.
3. Administration: Complete daily paperwork, input data into our system, and maintain accurate records of stock and transactions.
4. Phone and Email Management: Handle phone inquiries and emails professionally, directing queries as needed and providing helpful responses.
5. Data Entry and Reporting: Enter data into the system and assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reports for stock levels and material movement.
6. Record-Keeping: Organize and file documents related to deliveries, weighbridge transactions, and customer accounts.
7. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all vehicles and materials comply with site regulations, supporting the team in maintaining health and safety standards.
8. Health and Safety: Assist with ensuring visitors and drivers adhere to safety regulations within the yard.
What We're Looking For:
1. Strong Communication Skills: Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude, capable of building relationships with customers.
2. Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for accuracy, especially with data entry, stock records, and financial transactions.
3. Organizational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, keeping both the weighbridge and reception areas well-organized.
4. Experience in Admin or Reception: Prior experience in an administrative or customer-facing role is advantageous.
5. Basic IT Skills: Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and weighbridge software (training will be provided if necessary).

Pay: £12.00-£12.20 per hour
