St Mary's RC Primary School is looking for a creative, open minded and passionate individual to lead the school.
St Mary's is situated in a central position in Bonnyrigg. As a denominational, co-educational school, the catchment area is fairly wide, taking in parts of Newtongrange, Bonnyrigg, Poltonhall, Lasswade, Straiton and Loanhead. There are currently 180 children in seven classes from P1-P7 and an ELC class, with 48 full time spaces for 3 -5 year old children.
At St Mary's, everyone aims to provide a happy, healthy, safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment, promoting achievement for all and celebrating success. The school has a strong positive ethos, which values the holistic development of all learners in partnership with parents, and enjoys positive relationships across the Learning Community, based on respect for all, which reinforces the Gospel message to "treat others as you would like to be treated". All staff work together to provide an education which is both enjoyable and challenging and which meets the needs of all pupils.
St Matthew's RC Primary School is a denominational, co-educational small school that has capacity for 75 pupils and is housed in a traditional building with close links to the adjacent Roman Catholic Church. The school currently has 3 primary stage classes and one complex needs class. St Matthew's aspire to create an outstanding positive ethos based on the Gospel Values and respect for all. They provide a safe learning environment that encourages learners to discover and challenge their thinking.
Through high quality learning and teaching we will promote curiosity and ignite a passion for life-long learning, developing independent learners who embrace challenge enthusiastically. We endeavour to ensure our learners develop their skills and confidence and reach their full potential in preparation for the future.

This shared headship covers two schools in the west of Midlothian.

Pre Employment Checks/Requirements for Teaching Positions
If you are successful, our offer of employment will be conditional on satisfactory completion of pre-employment requirements, such as medical screening, two written references, one which must be from your most recent/current employer, verification of your original qualifications and your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. Registration with the General Teaching Council and a satisfactory PVG check for Regulated Work with Children will also be essential.
