To act as Team Leader for the Community Midwifery Team in Brighton and Hove and the surrounding areas. The post holder will work as part of a small Leadership team to ensure women and people accessing care from the Trust receive high quality, contemporary and family centred services. To ensure the smooth day to day provision of care, encompassing National Agendas, to lead by example and provide clinical supervision.
Main duties of the job
1. Build collaborative relationships with teams and MSW.
2. Liaise with admin staff, other community team leaders and the MDT to ensure smooth running of Community midwifery care provision.
3. Oversee rostering, appraisals, annual leave requests and other HR related duties for the Community Midwifery Team.
4. Work closely with Specialist midwives eg mental health midwife, safeguarding, diabetes to ensure good communication pathways to share information about service users whose needs span more than one speciality.

Experience
Essential
* Substantial post registration experience.
* BSc or relevant experience.
* Leadership qualification or relevant experience.
Desirable
* Proven experience in a variety of midwifery settings.
* Further training/qualifications relevant to the post (example: managerial / leadership qualifications, high risk midwifery post reg modules).
* Community Midwifery experience.
* Audit and Research experience.
