Summary – basic function of the role
We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Account Manager to join our team on a permanent basis at our Cramlington facility, providing a stable and structured work environment with no travel requirements, offering the opportunity to focus on building strong customer relationships, driving sales, and delivering exceptional service. In this role, you will be responsible for managing client accounts within a designated region, driving business growth through strong communication and sales expertise. Your focus will be on building and maintaining relationships to support the Sales Entity in achieving its growth objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Drive sales and margin growth by meeting or exceeding financial targets.
* Provide accurate sales forecasts on a weekly basis, contribute to team calls, and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key distributors, end-users, and other stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities.
* Develop and nurture relationships with key internal and external decision-makers.
* Identify and convert new business opportunities into profitable sales, including upselling and cross-selling products.
* Independently prepare, manage, and follow up on quotations, ensuring successful conversion into orders.
* Act as a liaison between Customer Service, Centers of Excellence (CoE), Application Engineering, and Application Specialists to deliver tailored product solutions.
* Collaborate with local and regional colleagues to implement global, regional, and local strategies that support financial targets.
* Promote the full range of products and services by organizing customer events such as presentations, seminars, and training sessions.
* Report to Commercial Management on key market insights, competitive actions, customer feedback, and recommendations to enhance sales and productivity.
* Support marketing initiatives and business development activities.
* Adhere to Delegation of Authority (DoA) for approvals and escalation procedures.
* Maintain account plans, log visit reports, and manage opportunities within Salesforce, participating in weekly reviews with the Sales Manager to discuss forecasting, gap planning, and sales strategy updates.
* While this role is primarily office-based, periodic travel within the assigned territory may be required via car or air, based on time, budget, and customer needs.

* Strong prospecting, selling, and closing skills, combined with excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve sales objectives, ensuring timely completion of assignments to meet monthly and quarterly deadlines.
* Highly dependable team player with a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a drive to take on professional challenges.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking within international and multicultural environments.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience using ERP systems (such as Oracle) and CRM/sales reporting tools, preferably Salesforce.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and technical design drawings.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address customer inquiries, regulatory concerns, and business challenges effectively.
* Skilled in preparing quotations and professional correspondence for customers, end-users, and representatives, following company standards and formats.
* Confident in delivering presentations to management and public groups as required.
* Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to apply mathematical concepts such as bolt load/psi/ft-lb calculations, statistical analysis, and fundamental engineering principles. Competence in working with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, particularly in pricing and profit margin calculations.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to define problems, gather and assess data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
* A valid driver’s license is preferred but not essential.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial sales within the infrastructure and fabrication markets; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Previous experience in account management or customer service is beneficial.
* Fluency in English (both oral and written) is essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* Strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
