Job Summary
We are an independent retailer and trade merchant in Stalybridge providing kitchens, bathrooms, fitted interiors and heating and plumbing supplies to our customers. During the last few years, we are delighted that our business has continued to grow. We are a family run business with big ambitions to further grow and expand. In order to achieve our goals, we must offer unrivalled customer service which we can only do so if we recruit and train the best staff.
We are looking to bring on board a Sales Advisor to meet the needs of our trade and retail customers among other support throughout the business.
The main role will be split between working on the Trade counter serving trades people and the general public, keeping the store organised and well stocked as well as occasional driving. The driving will be to cover holidays of the main delivery driver and to assist with urgent deliveries.
We are looking for someone who is confident in customer facing and will have the skill to develop the trade counter with our current trade customers and trade businesses within the area.
Duties
1. Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
2. Upsell additional products or services to customers
3. Assist with promoting the business to prospective trade customers
4. Offer Trade Customer Cash/Credit Accounts to increase returning customers
5. Establish a good rapport with regular trade customers
6. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
7. Assist with telephone calls and redirecting where necessary
8. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
9. Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues and complaints
10. Process and prepare orders for customers
11. Place stock orders with suppliers to keep the shop well replenished
12. Keep the shop well stocked by replenishing products
13. Keep your onsite stockroom well stocked and organised
14. Maintain a clean and organised sales floor/store environment
General
1. Support all colleagues in working as one team to ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively
2. Ensure that company policies are followed at all times
3. Act as an advocate for the business
4. Liaise with suppliers where necessary
5. Actively identify own training needs
6. Actively safeguard against theft of company goods or property by being security conscious at all times
7. Complete administration duties assigned
8. Willing to be flexible in duties undertaken
9. Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required
10. Able to handle heavy lifting requirements of the role
Experience, Skill & Qualities
1. Trade counter experience or plumbing parts knowledge
2. Strong customer service skills, face to face and on the telephone
3. Able to build rapport with customers and colleagues
4. Able to work on own initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude
5. Excellent communication and team working skills
6. Organizational skills to keep track of inventory, restock and maintain visual merchandising standards
7. Time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet sales goals
8. Driving – Full UK licence
