To provide efficient and comprehensive medical secretarial and administration support within Paediatrics.
To perform all allocated secretarial and administration tasks required to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
1. Dealing with telephone enquiries.
2. Direct Administration support to Consultants and nurse specialists.
3. Managing Consultants appointments/clinic utilisation/diary management.
4. Dealing with multiple mailboxes.
5. Validation of patient pathways.

Person specification
1. Evidence of secretarial/administrative support.
2. Qualified to level 2/GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.
3. Previous or recent secretarial/admin/office experience.
4. Demonstrate good standard of written and verbal communication with colleagues and members of the public.
5. Evidence of excellent organisational skills.
6. Evidence ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
7. Evidence of ability to work under pressure/meet deadlines.
8. Proven experience of working with confidential/sensitive information.
9. NVQ/BTEC level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Service.
10. RSA 11 or equivalent typing/word processing.
11. Experience of using Trust IT systems, CareFlow, E-track, EVOLVE, EPRO.
12. Experience of working in the NHS.
13. Understanding of medical terminology.
14. Demonstrate experience of customer/patient contact.
15. Competent use of MS Word/Outlook.
