Job Description: At Leonardo, they have a fantastic new opportunity for a Systems Architect. Following Leonardo's sustained success in capturing significant domestic and international contracts in the Land CEMA domain, they have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is ready to take on a System Architect Design Authority role. The role is ideally suited to someone already working within an engineering team developing Electronic Warfare (EW) / Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) solutions and is eager for their next career challenge. Leonardo has 45 years of experience in the counter-explosives domain and has previously provided jamming system to the UK’s counter-terror bomb disposal teams as well as UK Armed Forces, protecting vehicle crews and dismounted patrols from Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their recent successes draw on the company’s work in partnership with the UK Ministry of Defence to develop open standards such as Land CEMA (cyber-electromagnetic activities) Architecture and its associated standards. In the past year, their Integrated Sensors & Protection business has secured significant contract success with the UK Ministry of Defence. Leonardo will act as Systems Integrator for the development, delivery, acceptance, assurance, in-service support, and ever-greening spiral development of EW/ECM solutions in the Land domain for the next decade. You will also: Engage with users, customers, government scientists and wider stakeholders to elicit system needs and constraints (Problem Definition) Produce candidate solution architectures which satisfy real world challenges Derive functional and behavioural aspects of systems, and derive robust and quality requirements at all levels Contribute to a clear Architectural Vision, supporting capability roadmaps, for development of products in the short, medium and long term Conduct and document tradespace analysis to inform key design decisions Apportion and budget performance across a system or system of systems Provide internal consultation and Systems Engineering expertise to support the project team Participate/lead internal coordination meetings, sub-contractor reviews and customer/external stakeholder working groups Support design reviews as a review stakeholder (presenter, reviewer and reviewee) Support the continued development of Architecting methodologies in the Systems Engineering Function Play an essential role in the broader Systems Engineering team, assisting with process tailoring and best practice in MBSE, Systems Architecture and Systems Engineering Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required They are looking for systems thinkers, who have: Experience in Systems Engineering and high level of competent in a cross domain engineering environment Experience in military electronics, Electronic Warfare and Electronic Counter Measure systems Understanding of Electronic Surveillance Experience across all engineering lifecycles Experience of MBSE frameworks, tools, languages and their application in the methodical decomposition of a system.
