About the role Crawley Borough Council are looking to appoint an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee management of its community buildings and assets. The range and value of facilities for which you will be responsible is significant and includes: Crawley Town Hall/Create Building: 100,000sq ft Grade A office serving as the Council's main office, civic and customer service space as well as providing high quality office accommodation for a range of commercial tenants community buildings and assets: Over 50 community buildings and assets including community centres, sports pavilions, public conveniences and the town centre district heat network. outdoor sites and facilities including the Council's two cemeteries, 20 allotment sites and artificial sports pitches. While specific experience in managing the types of facility for which you will be responsible would be an advantage, we are keen to hear from you if you have relevant experience in any related facilities management setting. Within this context, experience in overseeing building compliance and certification, contract management including contract cleaning, planned and reactive maintenance and capital investment projects will be of relevance. The post has considerable budget responsibility and ideally you will be experienced in overseeing revenue and capital budgets. Equally, income derived from the facilities for which you will be responsible make an important contribution to the Council's budget and the ability to demonstrate a customer focussed commercial approach to income generation will be important. With four direct reports and a team of over 20 people in total, your ability to engage, support and motivate those around you will be important in ensuring your success in the role and ideally you will be able to demonstrate a track record of effective and successful staff management. Alongside your skills and experience however, we are looking for a candidate with the right qualities. Additional information Unsocial hours pay enhancement. The post is based at the Town Hall in Crawley Town Centre. You will be expected to attend meetings at a range of sites around the town and a full and current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role. Reflecting this requirement, an Essential Car Allowance (currently under review) forms part of the package. Working hours are 37 hours per week. Generally it is assumed that these will be during normal office hours however many of the facilities you are managing are open evenings and weekends and there will on occasion be a requirement to support the wider facilities team outside of normal office hours.
