As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students, fostering their confidence, and helping them overcome barriers to learning. Your dedication and expertise will be instrumental in creating a nurturing environment for academic and personal growth. Responsibilities of SEN TA: Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to deliver tailored support. Adapt lesson materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students. Assist with implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Support students with SEN conditions such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language and other learning difficulties. Employ effective strategies to manage challenging behaviours and promote a positive learning environment. Encourage social interaction and independence among students. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to develop and implement student-specific support strategies. SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements: Experience working with children in an SEN-focused role or as a Teaching Assistant. Knowledge of SEN conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties etc. Training or understanding of behaviour management strategies, such as Team Teach (desirable but not mandatory). A relevant qualification, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare, or equivalent.
