Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team as a Business Manager for the Integrated Cancer Care Group. In this role, you will work closely with the Cancer Care Group Triumvirate, including the Trust Lead Cancer Clinician, Macmillan Trust Lead Nurse for Cancer & Palliative Care, Head of Operations, and the General Manager for Cancer Services. You will also collaborate with the Cancer Care Group Clinical Director, Trust Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care, Head of Integrated Cancer Care, and the Directorate's leadership team to develop and implement strategic and operational initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership, service delivery, and performance within the Cancer Care Unit. The post holder will provide comprehensive support to the Integrated Cancer Care Management Team, overseeing external accredited programmes and managing all administrative tasks related to the delivery of services within the Cancer Care Unit. You will play a critical role in managing complex projects across multiple specialties, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating timely reports and information as required by the Integrated Cancer Care Leads. You will take the lead in coordinating updates, ensuring best practice in planning, governance, benefit realization, reporting, and effectively mitigating or escalating issues as needed. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job: Coordinate the activities of the Integrated Cancer Care Group (ICCG). Identify opportunities for pathway improvements by analysing breach reports and collaborating with services to embed timed pathways within Somerset and other relevant systems. Establish and implement robust systems for operational leadership, governance, and strategic planning. Work closely with the Quality and Clinical Governance team, Human Resources, Care Group Directors, General Managers, and Cancer Clinical Leads to support the achievement of strategic objectives. Provide strategic focus and operational direction to workstreams and programmes, including supporting new ways of working and the Quality Improvement plan. Support the delivery of priority projects within the Directorate, collaborating with the Transformation Team, HR, Site Leadership Teams, and Directorate Leadership Teams. Ensure the effective application of improvement methodologies and approaches at both programme and project levels. Maintain and manage programme risk registers, ensuring interdependencies are visible and managed. Monitor critical dependencies between projects and recommend appropriate actions. Support the overall improvement agenda, including facilitating events like rapid improvement, pathway mapping, and workshops.
