ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT ESTIMATOR – AVRS
MIDDLESBROUGH
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for an E&I Estimator to join the team at AVRS, a Galliford Try business. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Middlesbrough area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
As an E&I estimator, you will be required to provide project estimates for electrical & instrumentation works nationwide. This includes reviewing tender information, interpreting drawings, undertaking site visits, carrying out take-offs, and submitting quotes and estimates to clients within the Water & Nuclear sectors.
* Receive tender information from clients.
* Carry out take-off of required materials.
* Undertake site visits where necessary.
* Negotiate costs (and obtain approval from line managers).
* Submit take-off to suppliers to obtain prices.
* Ensure each tender is completed in line with expectations.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders & management.
* Possess good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and good practice.
* Seek, complete and record evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional institution.
* Have thorough knowledge of and compliance with relevant engineering procedures and standards.
About You:
* A background in Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineering.
* Degree qualified with suitable experience.
* Ability to think clearly and demonstrate rationale behind proposals.
* Ability to negotiate.
* Excellent oral & written communication skills.
* Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and application of electrical principles.
* Use a variety of media in the development and documentation of tender submissions.
* Actively demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines efficiently.
