Job Purpose:
To assist the Repairs and Maintenance Operations in the smooth delivery of a quality customer-focused service. The successful applicant will be skilled in diagnosing and carrying out roofing repairs to flat and pitched roofs, and promoting the Breyer Group PLC Brand.
Ideally, the candidate will demonstrate a primary trade background to ensure quality and efficient delivery; multi-trade experience would be an advantage. The candidate will be organized to carry out multiple calls per day as directed by the Operations team, ensuring we maintain efficient service within the service level agreements.
Main Duties:
1. Day-to-day management of workload
2. Ensure that all works are carried out safely and to an excellent quality standard
3. Updating PDA devices with work schedules and other key information as required
4. Maintain our corporate image and service standards
5. Communicate with residents face-to-face
6. Deal with tenant issues and complaints effectively
7. Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities
8. Maintain a quality 'right first time fix' service
9. Manage stock within the van to minimize non-working time
10. Ensure effective and proactive delivery of service
11. Maintain and deliver any required documentation to agreed standards and timescales
12. Work as an integral team member and mentor to apprentices
13. Make decisions using specialist experience
14. Support and manage delivery of health and safety policy and standards
15. Assist in identifying cost reduction opportunities
16. Participate in out-of-hours on-call system as required
Person Specification
Essential:
1. Asbestos Awareness Training
2. Full UK driving License
Desirable:
1. SMSTS Health and Safety
2. First Aid Trained
3. CRB check preferred
4. Multi Trade Discipline
Knowledge and Experience:
1. Experience in the responsive maintenance environment
2. At least 3 years’ experience in roofing
3. Experience in other multi-building trades advantageous
4. Ability to operate a PDA device
5. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
6. Excellent planning and organizational skills
7. Basic understanding of schedule of rates
