About the role
To help Group IT deliver its change objectives, we need contract project managers to come work on and lead projects within our high-profile programmes of work. In this busy and exciting position, you will have full responsibility for the delivery of several projects within a particular programme. You will be accountable for the definition, documentation, and successful delivery of projects of varying complexity - ensuring time, cost and quality parameters are agreed, monitored, and met.
The management of virtual project teams, financial budgets, risks and issues and stakeholder management – will be top of your agenda, therefore strong leadership skills with a positive, proactive, flexible approach and can-do attitude will be key.
Role Accountabilities
* Ensuring allocated projects are delivered to agreed timescales and cost, fit for purpose and successfully handed over to the support teams within agreed service levels.
* Leading virtual project teams and ensuring they are motivated, focussed on the right tasks, aware of their specific timescales and playing their part in the overall project.
* Maintaining knowledge of agreed Agile methodology and tools used within the department, ensuring projects operate within agreed tolerances, processes, and SLA’s.
* Tracking risks, issues, actions and budgets accurately during the lifecycle of projects – escalating issues where appropriate to the project sponsor
* Ensuring all resources required for projects are proactively scheduled with the appropriate resource managers.
* Ensuring any third-party relationships required to deliver projects are managed effectively from both a commercial and delivery perspective.
* Creating all project documentation including mandates, project plans, highlight reports, closure and lessons learnt documents.
* Providing up-to-date and accurate project status information to the Project Sponsor on a regular basis
* Complying with all IT policies and processes whilst seeking opportunities to improve the efficiency of both where applicable.
About you
With some previous significant experience, you will have a CV that demonstrates successful delivery, ideally in an agile environment. You will have a proven track record of managing both large single projects and multiple concurrent smaller projects whilst controlling commercial and budgetary aspects in large organisations.
Key areas; Background in ITSM platform implementations, strong budgetary skills and strong planning skills with a driven mentality.
Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous and ideally you will be a seasoned PM to with the ability to hit the ground running.
