Location: London, Isle of Wight or remote UK, hybrid
We are looking for a strategic and delivery-orientated leader who is driven by overcoming implementation barriers to enable key stakeholders to take action. Your role will be to design and deliver an innovative systems change programme to support The Fashion ReModel - a world first.
Summary:
You will set direction for fashion industry leaders, challenging and supporting brands from high-end to high-street to prove it is possible to increase absolute percentage revenue from circular business models including repair, rental, resale and remaking. You will also design and deliver a programme of collaborative and one-to-one projects with The Fashion ReModel participants to enable them to take bold action. This involves a blend of strategic thinking, design methodologies, and practical implementation skills that help participants resolve challenges spanning logistics to marketing.
You will identify systemic interventions, collaborating with colleagues and experts across policy, climate and finance to bring new perspectives to recurring barriers that prevent circular business models from scaling today.
In summary, you will provide The Fashion ReModel participants with inspiration to lead the industry by example and support them to demonstrate real-world quantitative impact. Being transparent about progress made, you will surface learnings and regularly create bite-size public insights building the evidence base for replication and inspiring widespread industry and policy change.
Role responsibilities include:
* Responsible for translating the strategic direction of The Fashion ReModel into specific, scoped, phased and actionable projects.
* Accountable for Fashion programme delivery, building scalable processes resulting in catalytic deliverables (world-leading insights, thought leadership and messaging) within appropriate timeframes.
* Demonstrate strong project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives underpinned by strategic thinking. Drive action at the necessary ambition, pace and scale towards the vision of a circular economy for fashion, whilst balancing today's realities.
* Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to support The Fashion ReModel participants to create business cases, value propositions, and revenue models for new and existing initiatives.
* Be the key point of contact for strategically important stakeholders to maintain and grow the Fashion network. With a high degree of independence, design and lead collaborative, confidential discussions to challenge and support leaders to make progress more quickly.
* Design workshops for industry leaders to constructively make tangible progress to overcome systems change barriers that are typically avoided as a subject of conversation, developing an intentional user experience, alongside strategic input and technical guidance.
* Support the Fashion Lead to develop and implement the Fashion Initiatives strategy.
* Represent the Fashion Initiative and the Foundation at external speaking events, from panels and presentations, to press conferences and meetings with senior stakeholders. International travel, often as the sole representative, is required.
* Manage The Fashion ReModel project teams to successful outcomes. In some instances, direct line management of team members may be required.
Your Profile:
* 7+ Years relevant work experience in business, consultancy, a design agency, or an NGO. Experience of managing a team to successful outcomes is essential.
* Evidence of inspiring, engaging and managing relationships with senior stakeholders. It would be preferred if you could demonstrate how you have leveraged your knowledge of circular business models and systems design.
* You will have worked on circular economy demonstration projects (preferably fashion) to deliver on an outcome basis, developing insights and technical content that catalysed industry and/or policymaker action.
* Deep understanding of industry and organisational levers to drive revenue change: able to contextualise the challenge of decoupling revenue from production within business priorities, strategically navigating where, when, and why to make circular business models the norm (fashion-specific knowledge preferred).
* Excellent communication and public speaking skills: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships to catalyse progress.
