With an exciting opportunity to grow the Families First service, you will be helping to ensure that prisoners are supported as they reintegrate into society and rebuild their family relationships. As a Families First Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in improving the lives of prisoners and their families. You will provide tailored support to prisoners and their families, especially as they approach release, ensuring that their relationships are maintained and strengthened through dedicated support services. You will work alongside external agencies to provide critical referrals, advice, and support to families, ensuring they have the necessary resources. Engaging with families through our drop-in service, you will guide them to both internal and external support services that are vital to their needs. In addition, you will facilitate family group workshops and provide targeted support to families navigating challenging situations, helping them overcome obstacles. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external agencies, the prison team, and the community, will be essential in improving service delivery and creating lasting positive outcomes for prisoners and their families. You will be required to attend regular onsite meetings, so the ability to manage a busy schedule and workload effectively is essential. What We're Looking For: To thrive in this role, you'll need excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to complete assessments and reports, and a keen understanding of the challenges faced by prisoners and their families. You should have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of prisoners and their families. Experience working with vulnerable individuals or groups, including those facing complex needs or challenging circumstances, is essential. Your communication skills should allow you to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Knowledge of the criminal justice system, resettlement processes, and experience in supporting vulnerable individuals is highly desirable. You will need to be proactive, adaptable, and driven to continuously develop and learn in the role.
