Do you have the ambition, energy and drive to be at the forefront of a unique and growing new school?
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilful leader to lead the development of teaching and learning in the growing secondary phase at St Mark's Church of England, All-through School in Southampton. It is a great opportunity for an excellent practitioner and developing leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the ethos and culture of the school as part of the school leadership team.
St Mark's opened the secondary phase of its all-through school in 2022 when the school moved into brand new facilities. The school is highly oversubscribed and quickly established an excellent local reputation, including a rating of 'good' in all areas by Ofsted in 2022.
The successful candidate will be able to build on the strong foundations of teaching and learning that have been laid and play an instrumental role in shaping pedagogical practice as we move into Key Stage 4 in the next academic year. The post-holder will work alongside colleagues in the All Through Leadership team, including the Head of Secondary to develop the quality of education across Years 7 to 11.
With a rich diversity of backgrounds and cultures from our local community, the post-holder needs to be fully committed to inclusivity and hold a core belief in raising aspirations for every child regardless of their background and individual needs.
Being part of a growing school is a rare and exciting opportunity and the unique context of being Southampton's only all through school, gives candidates an opportunity to work across all ages with a range of staff as we further expand and gain a really broad range of experience of school leadership.
To be successful, you will be a well-grounded and inspirational individual with relevant leadership experience in an educational setting. You will need to uphold our schools strong Christian values of Love, Service and Belonging and live these values as you lead and manage others, our children and our community.
You will need to be a leader with presence and visibility, who inspires, motivates and empowers others, restless to continue improving the quality and robustness of the teaching team and the learning and personal outcomes for children.
Ambition and energy are equally as important, as experience and applicants are warmly invited to visit the school. Visits can be arranged by contacting the Head of Secondary, Mr Ben Godber via email at bgodber@st-marks-southampton.org.uk
Applications can be made through TES or directly via the school website. and return completed applications to: kwolf@st-marks-southampton.org.uk
We look forward to hearing from you. Closing date Monday 20th January (4.00pm)
St Mark’s Church of England School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
