We currently have a vacancy at our Head Office in Newry for a Regional Finance Director North-Western Europe
Location : Newry, Greenbank Industrial Estate, perfectly located between Belfast & Dublin
Hours : 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Reports to : General Manager, North Western Europe
Responsible for - Financial Controller, Credit Controllers and Purchase Ledger Clerk
Salary : Competitive
Bonus: TBC
Company car – Yes

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Financial Director to join our Head Office in Newry, overseeing financial operations across North-Western Europe. This high-level role involves close collaboration with the Financial Controller to lead the Finance and Administration functions, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will use financial insights to identify potential risks, provide solutions, and drive performance improvement initiatives across the business.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the company, overseeing financial governance, enhancing profitability, and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations. This is a hands-on position that requires both operational focus and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and timely delivery of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
* Oversee weekly cash flow forecasting to ensure the company remains within agreed bank facility limits.
* Facilitate the preparation, monitoring, and updating of budgets and costing systems to support strategic decision-making.
* Provide in-depth financial analysis to support business development and continuous improvement.
* Ensure all taxation deadlines are met, and maintain effective relationships with auditors, bankers, and other external stakeholders.
* Develop and enhance corporate governance processes to strengthen financial controls and compliance.
* Take full accountability for the accuracy and integrity of credit control and purchase ledgers, managing the performance of the Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, and Finance teams.
* Monitor working capital evolution and ensure effective cash flow management.
* Collaborate with other departments as a business partner, delivering a high standard of financial support and service.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
* Assess ad-hoc business cases and conduct investment analysis to support management decisions
Key Qualifications and Skills
* Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
* Strong financial technical skills with a proven ability to manage complex financial operations.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, with excellent people management skills.
* Highly commercial mindset, with a strategic approach to financial management and planning.
* Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a proactive attitude towards challenges and change.
* Experience working with remote teams and managing projects across multiple locations.
* High levels of energy, with a drive for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
* Willingness to travel occasionally, with overnight stays as required.
