Job summary An opportunity has arisen for Accredited Band 6 Counsellors to join the Counselling Team within the Employee Wellbeing Service at the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The post-holders will be part of an innovative and enthusiastic team of counsellors and psychological therapists. Various hours are available. Main duties of the job Our team of enthusiastic counsellors and therapists provide high intensity counselling and psychological therapy interventions for staff with mild to moderate mental health problems. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Post-Graduate Diploma (level 7) in Integrative Counselling, CBT, Counselling or equivalent. Evidence of continuing professional development. Recognised professional Diploma in Counselling /equivalent. BACP accredited or equivalent. UKCP, UKP, BABCP registered or equivalent. Desirable Master's degree in Integrative Counselling, CBT, Counselling or equivalent. Further post-graduate training in condition specific interventions (e.g., IPT, EMDR, TF-CBT, Self-Esteem). Experience Essential Has a minimum of 450 supervised client hours working with clients with a range of mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Experience of working with brief, focused counselling interventions and/or evidence based psychological therapy interventions under appropriate supervision. To have experience of undertaking mental health assessment. Desirable To demonstrate awareness/ have experience of working in a managed psychological therapy or counselling service within the NHS, private or voluntary sector.
