Job Description
Our Acoustics team in South London (Croydon) is seeking a graduate to join them from October 24 onwards.
About our Team
The UK AECOM Acoustics team is one of the largest in the nation with 50+ members delivering acoustic solutions across various industries. Our project portfolio includes landmark projects worldwide, demonstrating our ability to handle complex challenges and deliver bespoke solutions.
Here's what you'll do:
1. Contribute to acoustic input, data analysis, predictions, and 3D modelling on projects
2. Complete site visits to make acoustic measurements and observations
3. Undertake primary research and literature searches
4. Support senior colleagues in providing technical advice to clients
5. Technical report writing
6. Communication with clients, local authorities, and interdisciplinary teams
7. Attend client and design team meetings
8. Contribute to scope and fee proposals
9. Undertake STEM activities
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. BSc/MSc degree relevant to Acoustics, Sound and Vibration, including Acoustical Engineering, Applied Acoustics, Noise Control, Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering and Music Production. Degree classification of 2:1 or above (or equivalent) is preferred.
2. Committed to becoming a corporate member of the Institute of Acoustics and ultimately a Chartered Acoustician
3. Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
4. A full driving licence as the role will involve travel for site surveys
5. Willingness to travel and occasionally work out of normal office hours
6. Strong numeracy
7. Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing
8. Self-motivation, enthusiasm, hard-working, with ambition and drive
9. Excellent research and report writing skills
10. Strong attention to detail
11. Ability to work as part of a team and independently
