We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership qualities who can motivate staff and work in conjunction with our dispensary services team across sites to manage and develop our dispensary services on the Bedford Hospital site.
The successful applicant will work closely with the site-based Principal Pharmacist (Operations & QA) and Head of Pharmacy as well as collaboration with leads at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital site.
The post holder will also be a key member of the senior pharmacy team on the Bedford site and be a key contributor to a number of cross site meetings including Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Governance.
1. To manage and co-ordinate the Dispensary, developing the service to meet the immediate and longer terms needs of the Trust ensuring alignment cross-site.
2. To apply highly specialist knowledge, including producing and implementing policies and procedures, undertaking audit and acting as a source of expertise.
3. To lead a reactive and efficient Dispensary service undertaking supervision of all accountable staff and be responsible for resolving staffing and service related problems on a day to day basis.
4. To manage and review processes for the induction of new staff, training and development of technical staff and trainees and service-related education for other healthcare professionals.
5. To contribute to strategic management and business planning alongside the Head of Pharmacy, Principal Pharmacists and Lead Technicians and contribute to the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team (PSLT).
6. To line manage Senior Pharmacy Technicians in Dispensary and oversee all dispensary Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants.
7. To act as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and to facilitate other Technicians in becoming accredited to check.
8. To act as professional role model, actively demonstrating integrity, ownership and leadership in all aspects of the role.
