Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
* Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
* Delivering substance misuse therapies.
* Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
* Promoting good personal healthcare.
* Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Job responsibilities
* £3000 estimated average overtime pay
* £500 referral bonus- when you refer healthcare professionals to us
* We will pay £120 NMC registration fees per year
* We will pay £98.12 HCPC registration fees per year

The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes. Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations. Experience within forensics is NOT NECESSARY.
As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner. Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse or other relevant discipline.
Hours of Work: The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of two day shifts, two night shifts, then 4 days off. This is a Bank Vacancy Only.

Qualifications
* Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
Experience
* A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
