Facilities & Support Services Manager - Sheffield Summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE We have an opportunity for a well organised Facilities & Support Services Manager to ensure our properties and facilities are aligned with relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and maintenance standards. This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months. What it's like to work here It’s an exciting time to work in the Peak District, with significant projects to maximise potential, improve visitor experiences and deliver our ambitions across every area of the property. With over 17,000 hectares of land, busy visitor facilities and some of the UK’s most popular countryside locations in our care, it is a large and complex portfolio where outstanding organisational, communication and prioritisation skills are pivotal to success. Your contractual place of work will be one of our three main offices in the Peak District (Longshaw near Sheffield, Ilam near Ashbourne or Edale in the High Peak). Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 60% of your working week. Your usual working pattern will be Monday to Friday, but occasional weekend and bank holidays are required according to operational needs. What you'll be doing This role is a key leadership role within the property and requires a significant degree of autonomy. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead a team of 7 Business Services and Facilities staff and volunteers, who work across the Peak District. Business Services offer support to all departments, providing administrative support around banking, procurement and records management while our Facilities team lead on all planned preventative and reactive maintenance and compliance monitoring across the estate. You’ll be accountable for the running of all aspects of Facilities Management, making sure our buildings and operations are safe, compliant, sustainable and efficient. You’ll join the Property Leadership Team, working collaboratively with other Heads of Department, portfolio teams and regional consultants to make decisions, drive improvements and shape the future of the portfolio. Who we're looking for We’d love to hear from you if you have: an understanding of Facilities Management in heritage and conservation environments, including procurement, maintenance requirements and asset management knowledge of compliance and risk management, including Health & Safety, CDM regulations, Fire & Security and emergency procedures a pragmatic and forward-thinking approach experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment outstanding organisational skills with a track record of being a strategic problem solver and planner an aptitude for managing budgets, finances, projects and contracts leadership skills including coaching, resourcing, development, communication and setting strategic direction an ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders The package The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
