Job Overview:
* To work as part of a small editorial team within the medical communications division. The division as a whole creates and delivers a wide range of projects, serving the needs of both the pharmaceutical company sponsors and the healthcare professional audience. The projects are delivered either in print, in person or online.
* The editorial team works closely with a client services team and commercial staff on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Creating concepts and content for the division’s projects
* Quality-assuring the project materials (ensuring that they meet the needs of the sponsors and target audience)
* Acting as a source of internal and external knowledge for therapy areas including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, the ABPI Code of Practice, and the role of bodies such as NICE.
* The PMW and other writers are responsible for managing and leading the progress of assigned projects, ensuring agreed timelines are met and quality standards upheld. The PMW will also play a key part in proposing and defining the scope of new projects and in assisting the Scientific Services Director in allocating and integrating work within the team.
* Writing compelling and accurate content for a wide range of project materials (e.g. slide decks, advisory board reports), showing an excellent command of different styles, tones and depths of information for the different materials.
* Reviewing project materials created by other members of the team, and ensuring they are sufficiently aligned with the project brief.
* Signing off project materials for production (e.g. for printing, online publication, presentation or broadcast).
* Recommending suitable approaches for content development to the client services team during project planning, that meet the objectives and constraints but also demonstrate innovation and creativity where possible.
* Directly collaborating with KOLs to produce materials of high quality, including identifying suitable KOLs through desk research, and briefing KOLs where necessary.
* Confidently liaising with clients via email, phone/online call, and face-to-face; raising queries and making recommendations when required.
