About the Role:
Are you a psychology or criminology student passionate about understanding behaviour and supporting young people? Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone interested in applying their knowledge in psychology or criminology within a school environment, gaining practical experience while making a meaningful impact on students' lives.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, school counsellors, and other staff to support students in their academic and social development. You’ll assist in managing classroom activities, provide one-on-one or group support for students, and help create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters learning and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide classroom support to teachers by assisting with lesson delivery and supporting individual students or small groups.
* Utilise knowledge of psychology/criminology to understand and support student behaviour, motivation, and social dynamics.
* Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who may have special educational needs, behavioural challenges, or require extra academic assistance.
* Support the development and implementation of positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and participation.
* Collaborate with teachers, school counsellors, and parents to provide consistent support tailored to each student’s needs.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
* Help with administrative tasks such as preparing materials, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
