About the Role: As a Stress Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in assessing and verifying the structural integrity of designs to ensure they meet safety, performance, and compliance standards. You'll be responsible for delivering detailed technical analyses, reports, and solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives on time and within budget. Responsibilities: Plan and execute stress analysis activities to meet project deadlines and cost targets. Conduct detailed structural analyses using manual calculation methods and finite element tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, HyperMesh). Evaluate mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for performance under static and dynamic loads. Provide engineering solutions for design and manufacturing challenges, considering project constraints. Participate in design reviews, contributing technical insights and recommendations. Investigate structural non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports to communicate analysis results and solutions effectively. Support ongoing product improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Essential Skills & Experience: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar tools). Strong expertise in static analysis using both numerical (finite element) and hand calculation methods. Proven experience in analysing complex mechanical structures, assemblies, and subassemblies, including components like gears and gearboxes. Familiarity with industry-standard structural analysis practices and methodologies. Experience working on projects within the Aerospace and Defence or heavy engineering sectors. Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001 is highly desirable. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or a related field. Previous experience in stress analysis, ideally within aerospace, defence, or heavy engineering industries.
