Behaviour Support Assistant – SEMH School (The Wirral)

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Implementing trauma-informed approaches to create a safe and structured learning environment.
2. Providing one-to-one and group support to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
3. Building strong, trusting relationships to encourage student engagement and personal growth.
4. Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement effective strategies.
5. Using positive behaviour management techniques to help students navigate daily challenges.
6. Encouraging and guiding students to achieve both academic and personal goals.
7. Monitoring student progress and adapting support strategies as needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience working with students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
2. A trauma-informed approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
3. Patience, resilience, and empathy.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
6. A proactive and positive attitude with a genuine passion for making a difference.
